[HET Seminar] Precision tests of the Standard Model

by Robert Szafron (CERN)

US/Eastern
Description

Effective field theory approach allows for systematic improvement of Standard Model predictions, which are tested in experiments. In my talk, I will focus on two applications of modern effective field theory framework. In the first part,  I will discuss corrections to the bound electron gyromagnetic factor and their impact on electron mass determination. In the second part of my talk, I will present a formalism allowing for a systematic treatment of QED corrections in flavor physics. I will also show how higher-order effects impact searches for Dark Matter.
