Meeting minutes:

1. EPIC simulation production tracking geometry cross checks:

I) MAPS vertex and tracking detector geometry by Shujie Li:

For MAPS based silicon vertex and geometry for the production tag 22.10.0, see details in https://indico.bnl.gov/event/17394/contributions/69873/attachments/44061/74348/Silicon%20Tracker%20Geometry%20and%20Materials%20in%20DD4hep-2.pdf,

same MAPS geometry in the 22.10.0 and 22.11.0 simulation production.

II) MPGD tracking detector geometry by Matt Posik:

MPGD geometry for production Tag 22.10.0 and 22.11.0, same MPGD geometry. Spatial resolution at 150 micron. Arches includes MPGD Barrel and MPGD DIRC, Bryce Canyon includes MPGD Barrel. See details in https://indico.bnl.gov/event/17349/contributions/70681/attachments/44412/74949/ePIC-MPGD-TrackingMeeting-Nov102022.pdf

III) AC-LGAD ToF geometry by Nicolas Schmidt:

Following the GD&I WG recommendation, AC-LGAD TOF consists of one plane in the hadron endcap region and one plane in the barrel region. AC-LGAD TOF geometry is the same between Arches and Bryce Canyon configuration.  See details in https://indico.bnl.gov/event/17349/contributions/70681/attachments/44412/74948/2022_11_TOF_Status.pdf

IV) EPIC Magnetic filed map check by Rey Torres and Wenqing Fan:

Compared the B-filed map of the new EPIC magnet and the scaled B-field from the Babar magnet. Found quicker dropping of the B-filed compared to the Babar magnet field. No field return with the current EPIC magnetic field map. Suggest to check the unit in the B-field configuration. Elke will help address the issue.

Plan to compare the tracking performance with different magnetic fields, Use different magnet field maps: a) Babar, b) new EPIC magnet, and c) uniform 1.7T B-field.

We will update the EPIC WIKI page with the converged geometry parameters.

2. Issues found in the EPIC 2022.10 simulation campaign by Nicolas Schmidt:

Nicolas worked with Matt to check the simulation output from the EPIC 2022. 10 simulation campaign. The issues are summarized below:

    a) Missing fraction of MPGD hits due the 1 keV energy cut.

    b) Loss tracks in the eicrecon output. Fixes will be applied.

    c) Missing ReconstructedParticle branch in DIS outputs.

Encourage further debugging and tracking performance evaluations after the tracking code fix and updated EPIC magnetic field map.
