General updates:

1) New beam pipe + vacuum system for the far-forward region, including the exit window for the ZDC is now fully in DD4HEP and should be merged today/tomorrow: https://github.com/eic/epic/pull/665

2) A vacuum volume needs to be added after the B2pf magnet to stop particles after B2pf. We could also discuss with the software group to make the world volume smaller to make this problem go away.

Subsystems

B0:

Karthik: simulations of shifted tracking system have been completed, and an improvement in resolution is observed. Details will be shared at the next meeting.

Zvi: Progress on engineering side of the discussion.

1) Discussion advancing on installation procedure. EMCAL will be installed early, at the front of the magnet, during beam commissioning. When things are safe to install electronics and silicon, SiPM or APD readout will be attached directly to the front of the crystals, and the entire subsystem will be slid into place, along with the tracking layers, one by one.

1a) Special discussion/attention to focus on moving detector near beam pipe which has high vacuum --> requires engineering and safety controls to be well defined.

2) XML file in DD4HEP needs to be updated to reflect the shifted detectors to improve tracking. 127 20cm long crystals, and 7 "shorter" (TBD) ones need to be reflected in the geometry.

3) Alex: user reported issue with reconstruction of lambda -> pi + proton in the B0. Protons get tracks, pions do not, but both leave hits, and the basic acceptance is sensible. Needs a closer look - discuss at the next meeting.

4) Cooling + carriage and rail system also under discussion, and design concepts are being discussed.

ZDC:

Yuji: Taiwan group has been showing results from crystal beam tests, but more discussion is needed. More updates to follow in the coming weeks.

Roman Pots/OMD:

Alex: Discussion continues on the EICROC0 ASIC. Test beam with this ASIC is premature, as issues with the ASIC need to be worked out first.

Further discussion: form factor for the AC-LGAD sensor. Right now, we assume a ~3cm x 3cm sensor, with FOUR ASIC bump-bonded to the back.

Some potential problems are: bump-bonding the four ASICs with perfect transverse butting, yield of AC-LGAD per wafer, lack of flexiblity in layout of sensors to maximize acceptance.

Discussion about POSSIBLE change of sensor size to match form-factor of the ASIC, for the above reasons. Discussion is needed.

Elke: It would be helpful to have a 1-2 slide summary of requirements for each subsystem to help guide this discussion.
