DSTC roundtable:

Yuji (ZDC EMCAL):

  • work is ongoing to do simulations with the crystals in DD4HEP.

Alex (RP/OMD):

  • Waiting on CAD drawing of new vacuum system + support structure for the RP/OMD to verify things are correct in DD4HEP and our global model.
  • New AC-LGAD/EICROC0 test board received at BNL. A few issues to resolve with the board itself, and then testing of the bonded EICROC0 will be carried out. Once tests are complete, an AC-LGAD will be bump-bonded to the EICROC0 for first tests of the 4x4 channel setup. --> Goal is to see if the ability to read multiple AC-LGAD pixels through the EICROC0 with bump-bonds is improved over wire-bonded setup.
  • Work is ongoing to improve the reconstruction in EICrecon for the RP and OMD.

Talk from Michael (a few discussion points):

  • Alex: The proximity of the EMCAL crystals to the beam pipe needs to be evaluated with the engineers.
  • Yulia: The placement of the crystals in Z needs to be discussed to ensure the crystals can be safely mounted.
  • The vacuum updates across all of the FF region, including the newest ones after B2PF drastically reduce time needed for simulations, especially for ions.

Talk from Karthik:

  • Results show expected improvement with shifting of tracking layers toward the center of the magnetic field map.
  • A 20cm allows the pT performance to be within the region for the physics (it will likely worsen as we improve the material and geometry description.
  • Discussions needed with engineers about the tracker placement w.r.t. the EMCAL.
  • Optimization work needs to be carried out to determine if shorter (few cm) inter-layer separation is tolerable for resolution - need to optimized placement vs. separation to get best tracking performance and least interference with other components.
