GENERAL
  • The final version of the preTDR is due by July 13. Murad will confirm with Derek that everything is up to date.
  • Note: Next week's BHCal meeting is scheduled for 9:30 AM instead of the usual 9:00 AM.

PROTOTYPE STATUS AND PLANS

  • Eric gave an update on the issues with the SiPM holders. (There was a miscommunication about the polarity initially; Steve reversed it to make the holders work for the test stand setup at BNL.)
  • The new cables have a slightly larger diameter compared to what was used for sPHENIX.
  • Out of the 100 cables we have, maybe half of them might work if we tweak the polarity as done now.
  • As a long-term fix, we should revisit the PCB design, holder, and cable (Eric is currently modifying the existing holders for use on the test stand.)
  • For BHCal (not the test stand), we will need to redesign 8000 holders--this is an important point to keep in mind.
  • Norbert suggested that instead of using connectors on the board (originally done to allow for cables of varying length), soldering directly would be more stable.

SIMULATION STATUS AND PLANS
