Travel to York
York is easily accessible by train. There are frequent direct services from most major UK towns and cities, particularly on the east coast. York station also serves as a hub for the local bus services.
Car parking in York is relatively limited and expensive. Arriving by train is preferable, but information on parking is also provided below.

University of York
The University of York has two main campuses, Heslington West and Heslington East. The venue for the second day of the meeting (09/12) is on the Heslington West campus. This campus is a ~30 minute walk from central York, but you may find the bus more convenient. See the Venue tab for more information on finding the venue and room.
Bus Services
The University is served by two frequent (~10 minute frequency) bus services, U1 and U2. These services depart from Stop RJ at York Station and also stop at Merchantgate in central York.

York buses operate a tap on/tap off system which has a daily cap of £6. If you do not tap off, you will be charged the highest fare for a single journey (£3).
Walking Directions from Central York
Heslignton West campus is a roughly 30-40 minute walk from central York depending upon your pace. If you decide to walk, please note that Google maps tends to use a longer route. I would recommend following this route instead.
Parking
Please consult this map for visitor parking on campus. The two most convenient parking locations are the campus central car park and the campus north car park.
