York is a busy tourist city and has a range of accomodation options to suit a range of price points. At time of writing (early September), prices for the week of 08/12 look reasonable with many suitable options in the £70-120 range.
There are the usual major UK chains such as Travelodge and Premier Inn which both have numerous locations around the city centre. There are also several pubs which offer rooms such as the Waggon and Horses.
Given the location of the venues, we would recommend something in the city centre (loosely defined as being within the city walls) for convenience. This will allow for easy access to both venues and to the group meal.
However, please note that for hotels within the city walls, many may not offer parking.
