The UniCal Campus can be reached in different ways based on the means of transport chosen:
By plane: The Lamezia Terme International Airport is the closest airport. The area of Rende (where all the suggested hotels are located) can be reached from the airport by train. A shuttle-bus called "Lamezia AirLink" connects the airport terminal to the main train station in Lamezia. The bus stops right in front of the airport terminal and has a very frequent schedule. The AirLink but only takes just 5 min from the airport to the main train station. When you have reached the main train station in Lamezia, take a local train to the railway station in Castiglione Cosentino, which is the area of the hotels. A few trains run directly to Castiglione cosentino, others require a connection in Paola (see timetable on https://www.trenitalia.com). To purchase train tickets either dwonload the Trenitalia app or go on the Trenitalia website and set Lamezia Terme Centrale as departing station and Castiglione Cosentino as arrival station.
The airport is also connected directly to the Campus area by means of buses/coaches: see a schedule here.
Shuttles from Lamezia Airport to Rende hotels and/or Calabria University. For those who prefer an easier connection, a shuttle service is available for transfers between the Lamezia Terme airport and Rende (the area of the hotels) or Calabria University. It is strongly recommeded that you book your journey in advance at the following link, by clicking on "transfer service": https://booking.topclassturismo.com/en/client/site/m61884-html-content.htm
Uber is also available at Lamezia Terme Airport. The cost of a Uber ride between the airport and the area of the hotels in Rende ranges 70-90€.
By car: Take the motorway Autostrada A2 Salerno-Reggio Calabria --> Exit Rende - Cosenza Nord, and follow the road signs to Università - Paola.
By train: The railway station in Castiglione Cosentino, that is connected to the railway terminals of Paola (railway along the Tyrrhenian sea) and Sibari (railway along the Ionian sea), is just 3 kilometers away from the Campus. Outside the station there is a bus stop of Consorzio Autolinee buses that connect the town of Cosenza with the Campus: once you leave the railway station, walk along Via Edison for about 100 meters, then cross Via L. Da Vinci and there you will find a bus shelter where the buses heading to the University stop.
