The XXXIVth International Workshop on Deep Inelastic Scattering and Related Subjects (DIS 2027) is committed to providing a welcoming, respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for all participants. The DIS 2027 Code of Conduct is based on the principles and standards of professional conduct established by the American Physical Society (APS).
Scientific progress benefits from the open exchange of ideas and from the participation of people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and expertise. Creating an environment that supports productive scientific discourse, collaboration, and professional interaction is the shared responsibility of everyone participating in DIS 2027.
All participants — including attendees, speakers, session chairs, organizers, staff, students, volunteers, exhibitors, vendors, and other guests — are expected to:

Conduct themselves in a professional, collegial, and respectful manner.

Treat all participants with dignity, respect, and consideration.

Contribute to an environment that encourages open scientific discussion and the constructive exchange of ideas.

Respect differences in background, experience, identity, perspective, and professional status.

Refrain from harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, abuse of power, disruptive behavior, or other forms of inappropriate professional or personal conduct.

Respect the personal boundaries, privacy, and safety of other participants.

Refrain from retaliation against anyone who raises a concern or reports inappropriate conduct.
Harassment or discrimination based on personal characteristics — including, but not limited to, age, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, political affiliation, educational background, or other characteristics protected by applicable law — will not be tolerated.
DIS 2027 participants are expected to follow this Code of Conduct throughout all conference-related activities, including scientific sessions, poster sessions, receptions, meals, excursions, social events, and other activities associated with the workshop.
Anyone who experiences or witnesses conduct that may violate this policy is encouraged to report the matter promptly to the DIS 2027 organizers. Reports will be handled with appropriate discretion and seriousness. Depending on the nature and severity of the conduct, the organizers may take appropriate action, including issuing a warning, removing an individual from a session or event, or requiring an individual to leave the conference without refund. When appropriate, matters may also be referred to the relevant institution or authorities. Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith will not be tolerated.
By participating in DIS 2027, attendees agree to contribute to a professional and respectful environment in which all members of our international scientific community can participate fully and safely.
