Roman pots cooling (Raphael Dupre - IJCLab)
- nothing new on the cooling front since last meeting --> need more information on the layout of the sensor packages.
- Working on a test bench setup now.
- Ordered a Peltier and controllers, but work is progressing on getting this setup.
- Still open questions on Peltier stability, radiation hardness, etc. --> lots of questions to address with a test bench.
Roman pots mechanical integration (Franck Legrand - IJCLab)
- Goal is to find a layout for the sensor packages that allows for better coverage around the beam.
- Primary layout similar to previous approach from the JLAB + BNL design, but by using "the parallelogram" mechanism (same as for windshield wipers).
- various modules connected to rods arranged horizontally, and split down the middle vertically - motion from the top middle moves all sensors packages to their various positions around the beam, where the "far" staves stay stationary - only the staves near the beam are "fine" adjusted to hug the beam closely.
- Question from Michael Murray & Alex Jentsch
- How do we account for various arrangements outside of the 2 considered?
- Answer --> this is a single motor, so we are limited in how much control we will have - essentially a fixed ratio.
- Shape adjustment motor is either in vacuum, or a rod outside coming into the vacuum (would need space on the scattering chamber in addition to the main driver for primary coarse motion).
- Question from Yulia
- How are modules attached to this concept?
- Answer --> attached to the cooling plate, which would have to be adapted to this concept and new cooling calculation performed.
- Question from Elke
- Why is this more complicated design needed?
- Answer --> this shape can provide better acceptance around the beam; allows everything to stay in a single vacuum chamber for each station.
- From Alex
- Why not perform a simulation to see how much this change could affect the acceptance?
- Having the ability to adjust the shape remotely will help with not needing full access to the detector.
ZDC reconstruction update (Sebouh Paul)
- The geometry for the SiPm-on-tile for preTDR and what is in DD4HEP are inconsistent - needs a follow-up meeting.
