Description
Modern high-luminosity circular e+e- colliders require the interplay between lattice nonlinearities and beam-beam interactions to be considered in dynamic-aperture (DA) optimization in order to achieve the required beam lifetime and overall machine performance. This presentation reviews recent studies of the impact of incoherent beam-beam effects on the DA of crab-waist colliders. It also discusses the principal sources of lattice nonlinearities and the basic theory of incoherent beam-beam tune shifts and resonances in crab-waist collisions. Particular attention is given to how beam-beam interactions modify single-particle dynamics and resonance structures, and to the resulting implications for nonlinear lattice optimization.
