AC-LGAD readout and electronics meeting

US/Eastern
Description

https://riceuniversity.zoom.us/j/98405417492?pwd=YkZHSTBOOUMzQUxFMUlBa1hMUWhoZz09

----------

Meeting topics:

*Readout board updates and progress
*Updates on EICROC1 testing
*Far-forward module board/stave design updates
*AOB

Shipments from Omega

  • Everything is here at BNL.
    • ~ 60 EICROC1 (no metal fix)
    • 2 EICROC1 testboards (no ASIC mounted)
    • 3 EICROC0A testboards w/ ASICs mounted

Roman pots 1x3 ASIC module board/stave

  • Discussion next week to look at the schematic/PCB layout with Jack --> Thursday morning (time TBD)

EICROC1 testing - Rachel Kovach-Fuentes (Rice)

  • Initial ADC results look good - much less clock noise (if any) compared to EICROC0
  • Acquisition window taken over fixed length of time (starts "randomly", stays open fixed amount of time, closes).
  • Small structure seen (few DACu) at the same time bin in all pixels.
  • Vref cannot be applied on a per-pixel basis, but when it is applied, it behaves as it should (shifts the ADC mean down, as expected).
    • With Vref subtraction, the ADC tails look a little different.
  • Alex: would be useful to look as a function of time bin, to see if there is a dependence on the time bin
  • Laurent: Also look across the various pixels - see if the behavior is consistent.

Testing at BNL (verbal updates from Alex)

  • Alex will get large AC-LGAD bonded (via IO - Don's group) to preamp board for testing.
  • Still following up on issue of signal bipolarity with bump-bonded HPK sensor(s) with etching.
    • Important to isolate the issue.
  • Will begin initial testing with EICROC0A board this week.
  • Tonko: Can you get EICROC1 bonded to the test boards?
    • Yes, will coordinate with Don's group to add that to the list of tasks.
  • Alex & Dominique: Alex tested the swapped resistors on the ZCU106-compatible EICROC0 (version 1) board and found them all to be fine, and the supplied voltages were correct. This excessive current draw does not appear to come from this.
There are minutes attached to this event. Show them.
