High Bay

  • serial numbers and locations of tiles documented
  • gateway up and running
  • Martin suggests to leave as much of the hardware as possible in the HCal lab and use existing hardware from sPHENIX already in High Bay to set up second read-out station there; then once UCR folks bring their caloroc and KCU, we'll have a 2nd complete setup in the HCal Lab.
  • Eric taking the lead in the move; he says the first step is paperwork (ESR)

Chimney modification (Dan Cacace)

  • 3 sectors need to be modified for new chimney
  • currently (sPHENIX) the same 3 sectors have a shortened (smaller outer radius) with special chimney tiles
  • Dan's proposal is that this shortened section can be eliminated entirely (as in cut off)
  • that means, we won't need to acquire special chimney tiles
  • but will have to temorarily remove all tiles from those 3 sectors for modification of steel at vendor
  • this means we'll have to acquire spare tiles in case any tiles get damaged in the removal process
