        Advice on design, simulation, performance issues

        is the DIRC layout final?
        readout shifted extremely to the left.

        to evaluate B impact, need to know the placement.

        there is no decision, need to come up with z and R position of the DIRC.

        Simulation & performance studies

        has mature G4 simulation of the detector.
        can have flat of projective geometry.

        extra 5 cm for projective, would be worth using for performance.

        what is the amount of dead area?
        calculation of the acceptance is ongoing

        looks like software people want to use dd4hep.
        invite software people and talk to them.

        how many samples? one every 55 um.
        have you tried to reproduce measurements? 
        7% based on test-beam results, best case (4%) based on simple counting statistics.
