Dr. Jim Sowinski, Program Manager for Nuclear Physics Facilities at Office of Nuclear Physics Department of Energy, will retire from DOE at the end of October. Jim has been an enthusiastic supporter and advisor of the RHIC program for many years. Before he moved to DOE, Jim was a long-term STAR colleague at Indiana University and an expert on cold QCD physics. It is our honor to celebrate Jim’s retirement and say goodbye to him on August 31, 1-3 pm BNL time.
