AC-LGAD working group meeting

US/Eastern
Description

Meeting for all AC-LGAD subsystems to discuss topics of common interest (e.g. sensors, ASICs, testbeams).

General agenda:

  • Updates from institutions on any on-going work (e.g. sensor testing, ASIC testing, full chain)
  • Discuss needed equipment for SPS test beam (follow-up from last meeting)
  • QA planning for ASICs and sensors (e.g. probe stations, etc.)
  • Needs for next sensor production
  • AOB

General comments

  • Several groups offered equipment (e.g. digitizers) for SPS testbeam. If other groups have equipment which could be useful, please let Alex know and he will populate the list of equipment to compare against what is needed.
  • QA document sent around --> need to start putting together QA plan for sensors, ASICs, etc. and see what institution have equipment which can be used for QA. Need to understand how much will be needed to meet production goals for subsystems.
    • Will required follow-up discussion.

Satoshi - TOF-Japan updates

  • Spatial resolution BTOF sensors < 20um from testbeam results.
  • Signal delay (charge sharing time) still being understood to extract timing resolution.
    • Timing resolution is difficult due to issue between sensors - working on it.
  • Clean room at Hiroshima U. will be ready in May.
  • Help with data analysis needed.
  • Data will be available at RIKEN, and then we can transfer data to BNL.
  • Beni: It would be good to have the test beam results published.
  • Satoshi et al. will meet with HPK people soon to discuss some of the results.

Simone - UCSC

  • Working on laser testing with some new sensors from Japan.
    • Need to analyze the data and compare with previous productions.
  • Also working on analysis of testbeam data.
    • Reproduce Satoshi's results, and then move on to the pixel sensors.
  • Will receive some proton irradiated large sensors from FNAL to see how they behave after irradiation.
    • 1e12 to 1e14 fluence.

Grigory - UIC

  • CDB database in-progress for BTOF (setup at BNL).
    • So far, very flexible - important as we build QA plan.
    • Could be more than we need, but ultimately it will do what we need, and DSTCs/DSLs should start using it - Grigory is laying the foundation for it, and others can start to adopt it.
  • List of equipment available for SPS, and UIC can send one person.

Jenni - Hawaii

  • Vacuum for probe station and IR lasers arrived, revamping code for moving stages.
  • PED request is under evaluation.

Alex - BNL/EICROC0 testing

  • Solved major issues with trigger window and delays - can now take data reasonably. Will have basic calibrations done in a few days and move on to triggered readout with the internal trigger + Sr-90 source.
    • DC-LGAD trigger will follow.

Prithwish - BNL/EICROC1/RBv1

  • EICROC1 + testboard arrived at BNL, initial work underway to power board and perform tests.
  • RBv1 connection with computer ongoing so Tonko can control remotely, and eventually connect to EICROC1.
