3/2/21 INTT Stave and Ladder PRR

  1. Rachid Intro Talk
    1. 7 full ladder-stave assemblies have already been built!
    2. BNL and Tawain silicon-stave-ladder assembly sites
    3. David Lyn --> Slide 23 question. Asked about pace of production with two labs. He thinks its fast. Do they have all the supplies, chips, etc...needed to keep this pace? Rachid was confident that this is ready to go. Timely stave delivery is key but staves have been made in pre-production so should not be a problem.
    4. Walter --> Spare staves?  Rachid --> building 2X INTTs worth of parts so that 2nd back up is ready to go in if 1st is not working. Double production.
  2. Takashi: Ladder Performance
    1. D. Lynn: 120 GeV beam test --> question about test response peak seperation..Rachiid answered
    2. XXXX
    3. XXXX
  3. Itaru: Ladder Electronics
    1. Walter --> Slide 9. Chip Bias question. Get notes from Walter
    2. Reliability about DF18 interconnections on....get thoughts from Walter?
    3. Haggerty --> Equipment protection role for electronics on stave/ladder --> get from John
  4. Cacace: Stave and Barrel Design
    1. Rich --> Epoxy experience, specs OK?
    2. Walter --> Radiation Length include water? Yes it does...water-glycol assumed for analysis
    3. Walter --> End view of layer 2 showing HDI bend.  Has the bending and bend radius been tested? Rob showed lab test build mockup and this was tested.
    4. D, Lynn --> Since this test assembly has not been done yet and things are so packed how can we approve fabrication of ladders and staves if there is an integration issue, some interference?
      1. Rachid, Dan say end rings and other components can be adjusted to clear any clashes
    5. Jason and Walter asked about grounding with brass and epoxy components --> Get questions and concerns from them.  How do you ground carbon fiber tube?
    6. Jason --> Thermal analysis and conductivity of foam?--> Rob will present prototype testing to verify analysis.
    7. Jason --> FEA question. Deflection results are really low.  Water weight included?
    8. Russ --> Material Properties? Properties of assembly?
  5. Rob Pisani. Quality Assurance Testing
    1. Walter --> Class II staves OK? Rob puts highest class based on leak rate.  Then Class II passes leak test but may be slightly dimensionally off. Could still be used if no leaks.
    2. Walter --> What is yield on pre-production. Rob --> ~%80 with Class I and II. There is a tracking database for accepted parts. .Get more notes from Walter
    3. Jason --> For subatmoshperic chiller ops have you run vacuum leak tests?  Rob has done some testing and knows that pressurized leaks there will also be vacuum leaks.  Get jason's notes.
  6. Cheng-Wei Shih: Ladder production at NTU
    1. Walter --> Pull testing of wire bonds? Yes, done
  7. Connor Miraval: Ladder Production at BNL
    1. D. Lynn....how control glue height in processes? A lot of glue.  Mask and screens to get epoxy thickness needed
    2. Walter had a lot of questions --> Get notes from him
  8. Milan: Ladder Eval and Classification at Purdue
    1. XXXX
