"Brookhaven Forum 2017 (BF2017): In Search of New Paradigms" will be held at Brookhaven National Laboratory, Upton, NY, USA, October 11–13, 2017. Slides Donut_Brookhaven_Tsai_submit.pptx We consider the astrophysical signatures of dark matter (DM)-induced neutron star (NS) implosions based on the capture and collapse of heavy asymmetric DM (ADM). In particular, the altered NS-merger distribution observed through LIGO/Virgo, and the associated merger kilonovae observed through telescopes, such as DES, BlackGEM, and ZTF, can test the ADM hypothesis, given 5 -10 localized detections. We also set bounds on ADM parameter space by considering the DES kilonova search and the abundance of r-process element. The first neutron-star merger detection by LIGO/Virgo and optical/gamma-ray telescopes would provide us with the first robust data point for our statistical test. This talk is based on arXiv:1706.00001.
